Seattle aerial troupe the Cabiri soars at Auburn Performing Arts Center.

The Cabiri, a local dance troupe with a specialty in aerial work, navigates new mythic territory with their latest production, “Carpathian Dawn.” Their imaginative travels, they say, will take them into Slavic realms “east of the Danube, toward the rising sun.” The choreography is by Sam Alvarez, Adrienne Krieger, Jill Leversee and Catherine Cabeen (a dancer-choreographer who was a finalist in last year’s “A.W.A.R.D. Show!” at On the Boards).

The Cabiri’s previous production, “The Ghost Game: Dead Gods,” relied — sometimes awkwardly — on audience participation. Aerialist Charly McCreary promises that “Carpathian Dawn” will follow a more “standard dance format” this time, letting viewers sit back, relax and leave the artistry to the professionals.
