The Sasquatch! Music Festival has announced a monster collection of bands for Memorial Day weekend at the Gorge Amphitheatre. And true to the festival’s name, the lineup has a shaggy, Northwest character.

Top-of-the-bill rock bands Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse and The Decemberists all have Northwest roots.

Among the dozens of other artists that will perform at the annual outdoor event are two skyrocketing Seattle acts — hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and folk-pop outfit The Head and the Heart — and a bunch of other popular locals: “$5 Cover” band Moondoggies; R&B revivalists Wheedle’s Groove; and party rappers Mad Rad included.

Sasquatch!, which will swarm over several stages May 27-30 at the Gorge, is not only about Northwest music, however. It typically presents an eclectic mix of provocative contemporary sounds, and this year is no different.

Unlimited Digital Access. $1 for 4 weeks.

The evidence: Swedish dance-pop artist Robyn; alt-rockers Wilco; laptop musician Flying Lotus; indie-folk band Bright Eyes; Celtic punk band Flogging Molly; Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela; Brooklyn rappers Das Racist; funkmasters Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings; singer-songwriter Iron & Wine; and the unclassifiable, ever-experimental The Flaming Lips.

Now in its 10th year, Sasquatch! has been expanded from three days to four, with the addition of a Friday show headlined by Foo Fighters (previously announced).

Four-day passes are now on sale at, and single-day tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14.

According to presenter Live Nation, last year’s event sold out.
