An onstage bender
A huge rant for Mitch Hedberg, who performed at the Moore Theatre on Friday, Dec. 3. I don’t care who you are or how important you think you are; to show up appearing stinking drunk for your comedy set is not only pathetic and sad but disrespectful to your fans who paid good money to see you. As a fan of Hedberg, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and stick it out for the entire show, but once he lay down on the floor and couldn’t get up, we took our cue to leave. The only reason we didn’t demand a refund is because the co-headliner, Steven Lynch, was so funny it made it worth the ticket price.

A huge rave for the Paramount Theatre! We went to see “The Lion King” and just before the performance started, the ushers offered booster seats to any short person (I am 5’2″) or child who wanted to see the show without an obstructed view of the person in front of us. Thank you, thank you. The Paramount rocks!!!
Seatless in Seattle
I’d like to give a hearty and well-deserved “rave” to the staff at the Paramount Theatre during the recent running of “The Lion King.” On the morning of Sunday, Dec. 5, my husband and I realized that we could not find our five tickets (worth $330) for that afternoon’s matinee show. I had purchased the tickets through Seattle Children’s Theatre, and the only record I had was an e-mail saying I had bought them, but not designating any seat assignments.
In near tears, I drove to the box office when it opened at 11:30 a.m. and told my story. Instead of chiding me in any way, the box office attendants were very helpful and asked me to come back 15 minutes prior to the show when they would be in a position to help me. Our group arrived at the appointed time, and the staff was very helpful. Since they had no way of knowing what seats we had actually purchased, they continued to check the section our seats were supposed to be in for five seats together. The box office staff and the ushers were very nice and reassuring. They ultimately found us seats, and we were able to enjoy the show. They were wonderful!
