“Let it go, let it goooooo.” And you thought Disney’s 2013 animated megahit “Frozen” was gone from area movie screens? I’m here to tell you that little snowman Olaf will be all over the region’s outdoor-movie screens this summer. So will “The Lego Movie,” and “Gravity” and all those little minions from last summer’s “Despicable Me 2.”

For something a little different this summer, look to the Deco-Era Japanese Film Series at Volunteer Park — tied in to the “Deco Japan” exhibit at Seattle Asian Art Museum — or the Fremont Outdoor Movies collection of Wes Anderson films, or Fremont’s annual “The Dude Fest: The Big Lebowski.”

The season gets under way in earnest this weekend with outdoor screens popping up all over the Puget Sound area, and will end about two months from now with a final showing of “Frozen” at the Cascade Playground in the South Lake Union neighborhood.

In between are dozens of films, most of them free (except where noted), at parks and parking lots all around Seattle and beyond. Schedules are subject to change, and of course, call ahead to confirm. Then grab a blanket or chair, a snack and a friend, and get ready for cinema under the stars.
