“The Croods” (PG): Meet a truly modern Stone Age family (voiced by Nicolas Cage, Catherine Keener, Emma Stone, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman), forced to leave their cave and venture into the unknown. “Once you get used to the script’s contemporary dialogue,” says movie reviewer Tom Keogh, “it’s easy to settle down with the film’s imaginative, colorful vision.”
“A Fierce Green Fire” (not rated): Director Mark Kitchell alternates talking heads and celebrity narrators (including Robert Redford and Meryl Streep) with news and archival footage to recount milestones in the environmental movement, but without opposing views.
