Bunnies rule this weekend with the Easter bunny himself leading the Snohomish Easter Parade, and real bunnies, egg hunts for kids and Easter-themed treats for zoo animals at Woodland Park Zoo Bunny Bounce Saturday.

Floats, bands and drill teams follow the Easter bunny through historic downtown Snohomish in the 34th annual Snohomish Easter Parade Saturday, with the Easter Bonnet Contest for people of all ages and pets afterward.

Anyone with a decorated hat “with all the frills upon it” (as the old song says) is welcome to ride on the parade’s Bonnet Float, loading at First Avenue and Cedar Street before the 11 a.m. parade.

Bunny Bounce and Easter Baskets for the Animals at Woodland Park Zoo features treats and bunny encounters for kids and Easter baskets for zoo animals throughout the day Saturday.

This week, save 90% on digital access.

Egg hunts for kids ages 8 and younger are first-come, first-served throughout the event. Space may be limited. Children need to bring their own bag or basket for their treats.

Meerkats, gorillas, otters, lemurs, penguins and other animals get Easter baskets lined with flowers, fruit and other favorite treats on the half-hour, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Activities are free with zoo admission.

Many local community centers and organizations offer kids’ hunts for plastic, treat-filled eggs this weekend. For all egg-hunt events, organizers ask families to bring a bag or basket for each child and arrive 15 minutes before starting time to allow time to find your starting place.
