Jonathan Rose will have plenty of aerialist company with festival favorites Aviatrix, Sally Pepper, Poppy Daze, Vivian Tam and others.

But aerial activity is only one part of the Moisture Festival, running Thursday through April 14.

There’s also music (the Bobs, Uncle Bonsai and Baby Gramps are returning) and juggling (NANDA, Arne Bystrom, Mud Bay Jugglers). Physical comedians, magicians, acrobats and equibalancers are all on the roster as well.

Then there are the one-of-a-kind acts: bubble sculptor Tom Noddy, for instance, or “Human Jazz” purveyor Christian Swenson.

While family-friendly fare happens at Hale’s Palladium, burlesque will be in full force at Broadway Performance Hall. The names of the acts alone — Eartha Quake, Iva Handfull, Trixie Little & the Evil Hate Monkey — arouse curiosity at the very least, and their striptease elements are usually (un)laced with bountiful wit.

Local talent is well represented, but performers hail from as far afield as Argentina, Australia, Europe and all across the U.S. For the full lineup of acts, plus information on showtimes and venues, go to For tickets, call 800-838-3006 or go to $10-$25 for single tickets; $75 for day pass ($85 for day pass, plus food).
