Good news for parents and caregivers: Children 10 and younger who are accompanied by an adult get into Bumbershoot free. Your first stop might be the Youngershoot Kids Zone, which offers activities for youngsters daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Next 50 Plaza (just east of the Armory, formerly called the Center House).
Also, here are a few specific kid-friendly acts to look for:
Films4Families: The 1 Reel Film Festival gets under way at noon every day of the festival with a specially selected program of short films appropriate for all ages. (Noon daily, SIFF Film Center)
Brian Vogan and His Good Buddies: This nine-piece children’s band promises “foot-stomping” music with adorable lyrics. It’s a little folky, a lot catchy. (1:30 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Kids Zone)
Most Read Stories
Little Wing: School of Rock introduces children to rhythm and other music fundamentals through movement games. (All day, daily, Kids Zone)
The Pacific Science Center: PacSci features hands-on, interactive exhibits all three days in addition to two shows: Radical Reactions (5 p.m. Sunday, Kids Zone) and Super Cool Science Show (3:30 p.m. Monday, Kids Zone)
Allen Stone: The local singer’s funky, soulful style and kid-appropriate music is sure to entertain kids just as much as their parents, maybe even more. (8 p.m. Monday, TuneIn stage)
