Seattle-based developer Touchstone and its partners announced Friday that a planned boutique hotel a block from the Pike Place Market will carry the Thompson Hotels brand, the hotel operator’s first property in the Pacific Northwest.

Expected to open in spring 2016, Thompson Seattle will offer 159 rooms, 97 extended-stay residences and a rooftop deck with 9,500 square feet of space, officials said. It also will feature a ground-floor restaurant and 1,600 square feet of retail space. The 12-story building will be at the northeast corner of 1st Avenue and Stewart Street.

Touchstone is partnering with private equity firm Geolo Capital and Commune Hotels & Resorts, which has three brands, including Thompson Hotels.

John Pritzker, the son of the late founder of the Hyatt Hotels Corp. chain, owns Geolo, which in turn owns Commune Hotels.
