A Seattle seafood executive has been appointed to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, while two Alaska men have been reappointed.

A Seattle seafood executive has been appointed to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, while two Alaska men have been reappointed.

Gov. Sean Parnell on Friday added Amy Humphreys, the president of Icicle Seafoods, to the board and reappointed Jack Schultheis of Emmonak and Kevin Adams of Anchorage, KMXT reported (http://is.gd/zgWRfb).

Schultheis has been involved in processing for 37 years, mostly in western Alaska fisheries. He is general manager of Kwik-Pak Fisheries. His seat on the board represents small processors.

Adams, the institute’s current chairman, has 40 years experiences as a drift boat fisherman in Bristol Bay. He has worked for the Alaska Fisheries Development Board and the Bering Sea Fisherman’s Association. His seat on the board represents harvesters.

Humphreys was president of Delta Western and vice president for American Seafood Group before going to Icicle. Humphreys will represent large processors on the board.

The governor’s office says in a release that the institute promotes Alaska seafood and develops market-oriented quality specifications.
