Talk about a branding bonanza for Pacific Northwest companies.
President Obama will participate in an online chat Wednesday moderated by Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff to talk about Obama’s plan for strengthening homeownership and respond to housing questions from the public.
It will be the second time in little more than a week that Obama has partnered with a Seattle company on a publicity event. Last week, Obama visited an Amazon distribution center in Chattanooga, Tenn., to tout his proposal to cut corporate tax rates in exchange for support from Republicans in Congress to back job-creation programs.
The 30-minute Zillow chat, scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific, is part of the Obama administration’s “A Better Bargain” campaign to show what it’s doing to support the American middle class through job creation, housing and other programs.

The chat will come a day after the President delivers a speech in Phoenix on his homeownership plan.
A spokeswoman for Seattle-based Zillow said it wasn’t the first time the company had done an online chat with federal officials. Rascoff moderated a chat last year with Housing Secretary Shaun Donovan, the company said.
On its website, The White House is encouraging homeowners, renters and prospective buyers to submit questions for the chat on various online sites, using the hashtag #AskObamaHousing.
Questions can be submitted in a video format on YouTube, Instagram or Vine; in text via Twitter; or on Zillow’s page on Facebook, officials said.
Zillow, the online real estate marketplace, will partner with Yahoo! to livestream the event. The two tech companies inked a deal in 2011 that allows advertisers and brokers to place local real estate ads at the same time on both networks.
