Hiring events


Custody officers sought: On Tuesday, Snohomish County Corrections will be recruiting custody officers for the Snohomish County Jail in Everett.


To apply and test for the job, go to the WorkSource office at the Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave. Doors open at 8 a.m., and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Written exams begin at 9 a.m. and noon.


Applicants should bring picture identification, employment history and references. The process takes two to four hours. Pay for custody officers starts at $3,139 per month, plus benefits.


Responsibilities include booking and releasing inmates, supervising inmate activities, transporting inmates to court and medical appointments and responding to emergencies in the facility.


Applicants who pass the written exam and preliminary background interview will leave the job fair with a conditional offer of employment, contingent upon passing an extensive background investigation, which includes psychological and polygraph exams as well as a physical-ability test (PAT) and interview.
