Leanne Caret has been named president and CEO of Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security business effective March 1.

She succeeds Chris Chadwick, 55, who is retiring this spring after 34 years at Boeing, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

Caret, 49, is a 28-year company veteran, Boeing said. She currently leads the Defense, Space & Security unit’s Global Services & Support business, which has approximately 13,000 employees in 295 locations around the world.

Ed Dolanski, 48, will take Caret’s post as president of Global Services & Support. He is currently president and chief executive officer of Boeing subsidiary Aviall.
