Heads up: Will there be a Santa Claus rally this week, too? The odds are good, Virginia. When it comes to the first trading day after Christmas, the Dow has been up 11 of the past 13 years, and the rallies often are sustained through the week, according to the Stock Trader’s Almanac.




Tuesday:
The Conference Board releases its consumer confidence index. Wednesday:
The real-estate brokerage firm Cushman & Wakefield will release end-of-the-year numbers for the region’s office market. Look for downtown Seattle’s vacancy rate to remain flat at around 15 percent and for the picture to continue to brighten in Bellevue’s central business district, where the rate has plunged in recent months.




Friday: Normal hours for the stock market on its last trading day of the year.




Saturday:
Both the minimum wage and workers’ compensation rates will rise. The state’s hourly minimum wage jumps to $7.35. Workers compensation rates will rise an average 3.7 percent.
